About the Artist
ART AS TESTIMONY, AS HYPOTHESIS, AS RESPONSE
My work explores issues of memory and invention. I use images as an alternative language. My pictures address lacunae in time, in memory. Each is an effort to answer a question. Often, I paint from photographs of lost family, of strangers on the street, of mysterious places.
Underlying this work is a commitment to acknowledging the heart.
At the end of the day, I hope to say a true thing in each piece. And to create a pleasing image, that will speak to someone.
